Descrição: São os frutos da espécie Opuntia tuna Mill, pertencente à família das cactáceas. Possui ramos (vulgarmente conhecidos por folhas) carnudos, suculentos, em cuja extremidade se dispõem os figos. Os frutos são baciformes, com 5 a 8 cm de comprimento, e possuem elevado número de espinhos, dispostos em tufos.
Descrição: Fruto da variedade Physalis peruviana L. (Cape Goosberry), rico em vitaminas A, B, C (60 mg/100 g ), com elevados teores de fósforo e ferro. É uma baga com um diâmetro de 1,5 a 3,5 cm, com várias sementes achatadas, assemelhando-se a um tomate em miniatura. O fruto está maduro quando o invólucro ou «capucho» está castanho e o fruto alaranjado. Tem um sabor peculiar que corresponde a uma mistura dos sabores de morango, kiwi e groselha, e o aspeto de pequeníssimo tomate quando livre do seu invólucro acastanhado.
Descrição: Fruto da espécie Persea gratissima Gaerthn, ovóide ou piriforme, atingindo 8 a 12 cm de comprimento e até 15 cm de largura. A polpa, inicialmente verde, passa a amarelada quando bem madura e envolve a semente que é globulosa e grande. A polpa do abacate, de textura finíssima, é comestível e possui um sabor comparável ao da manteiga. As variedades mais cultivadas apresentam frutos de cor violácea ou verde.

The Rocha variety belongs to the family Rosaceae, sub-family of pome fruits, genus Pyrus and species Pyrus communis L. It is a Portuguese variety, obtained as a chance seedling about 150 years ago in the commune of Sintra, its natural range being in the west region. The flesh of Pera Rocha do Oeste PDO is white in colour, soft to melting, granular, sweet, non-acid, very juicy and moderately yet distinctively aromatic.
