Capucho

Descrição: Fruto da variedade Physalis peruviana L. (Cape Goosberry), rico em vitaminas A, B, C (60 mg/100 g ), com elevados teores de fósforo e ferro. É uma baga com um diâmetro de 1,5 a 3,5 cm, com várias sementes achatadas, assemelhando-se a um tomate em miniatura. O fruto está maduro quando o invólucro ou «capucho» está castanho e o fruto alaranjado. Tem um sabor peculiar que corresponde a uma mistura dos sabores de morango, kiwi e groselha, e o aspeto de pequeníssimo tomate quando livre do seu invólucro acastanhado.

Abacate

Descrição: Fruto da espécie Persea gratissima Gaerthn, ovóide ou piriforme, atingindo 8 a 12 cm de comprimento e até 15 cm de largura. A polpa, inicialmente verde, passa a amarelada quando bem madura e envolve a semente que é globulosa e grande. A polpa do abacate, de textura finíssima, é comestível e possui um sabor comparável ao da manteiga. As variedades mais cultivadas apresentam frutos de cor violácea ou verde.

Maçã de Alcobaça PGI

Description: Fruits group Casa Nova, Golden Delicious, Red Delicious, Gala, Fuji, Granny Smith, Jonagold, Pippin and Pink obtained in the geographical area, characterized by elevated consistency and crispness, the high percentage of sugar and  high acidity , which gives them a bittersweet taste and intense aroma. The high levels of total acidity is fundamental balance between sugars and acids gives to Maçã de ALcobaça the aroma and specific bittersweet taste that differentiate them from others.Other qualitative and sensory characteristics attributed to particular ecological conditions of the production area of Maçã de Alcobaça, is a high consistency and crunchy texture of the pulp, the intensity of the red color in groups of red fruits and bicolored, the intensity, the epidermis with lenticules or well-marked and open lenticels and the presence of russets closed the pit or stem cavity.

Description: Citrinos do Algarve PGI covers a wide variety of fruits originating from the species Citrus sinensis (oranges), Citrus reticulate, Citrus Unshiu, C. deliciosa, C. mobilis (small citrus fruits), Citrus paradisi (grapefruit), Citrus limon (lemons), Citrus limetta, Citrus limettioides (limes).

Pera Rocha do Oeste DOP

Description: Pera Rocha do Oeste PDO is the fruit of the pear tree of the ‘Rocha’ variety obtained in the west region. The Rocha variety belongs to the family Rosaceae, sub-family of pome fruits, genus Pyrus and species Pyrus communis L. It is a Portuguese variety, obtained as a chance seedling about 150 years ago in the commune of Sintra, its natural range being in the west region. The flesh of Pera Rocha do Oeste PDO is white in colour, soft to melting, granular, sweet, non-acid, very juicy and moderately yet distinctively aromatic.

Maçã Riscadinha de Palmela DOP

Description: ‘Maçã Riscadinha de Palmela’ is an apple of the Riscadinha variety (family Rosaceae, genus Malus Miller, species Malus domestica Borkh.) produced in the region defined. It is intended for consumption fresh, whole and unpeeled.
Only apples which can be graded as class ‘Extra’, I or II (minimum size: 60 mm) may bear the name ‘Maçã Riscadinha de Palmela’.
