Description:«Cebola da Madeira» are the bulbs of traditional varieties from the species Allium cepa L., obtained on the inhabited islands of the Madeira archipelago, namely: “Branca”; “Pião”; “Bujanico”; “Vermelha”; “Roxa” and “Do Tarde”, produced following the traditional practices of the islands of Madeira and Porto Santo.
Batata-Doce da Madeira PDO
Description: Batata-Doce da Madeira is the tuberous root of plants of Ipomoea batatas (L.) Noir, from the traditional varieties obtained on the inhabited islands of Madeira’s Archipelago, namely from varieties: “Brasileira”; “5 Bicos”; “Cenoura Regional”; "Inglesa"; “Cabeira”; “Amarelinha” and “Cabreira Branca do Porto Santo” between others cultivated forms of digitata and cordifolia varieties, produced following the traditional practices of Madeira and Porto Santo Islands.
Tuberous roots of “Batata-Doce da Madeira” have morphological characteristics (including the shape and the colour of their skin and pulp), that distinguish and allow them to be easily identified at the market by local consumers, and given them different commercial valorisation, depending on the length of their production cycle and, above all, on their nutritional and organoleptic properties.
Alho da Graciosa IGP

Description: “Alho da Graciosa” – garlic of the species Allium sativum L. – is presented in the form of dried bulbs, either individually or in braids, each with a diameter of at least 3 cm, measured across the peeled bulb. The bulbs, which are ovoid in shape and wrapped in various layers of white outer skins that are easy to remove, consist of cloves with a firm, smooth texture encased in reddish pink skins. Important aspects of its chemical composition include its high levels of zinc (over 7 mg/kg), iron (over 8 mg/kg), magnesium (over 170 mg/kg) and allicin (over 3 500 mg/kg), which gives “Alho da Graciosa” food-preserving properties.

Cherovia

Descrição (dimensões, cor, aroma, textura): A Cherovia é uma raiz que tem a forma de uma cenoura e a cor do nabo. O seu sabor é uma mistura de ambos os legumes, mas mais acentuado e até adocicado. É um sabor único e extremamente agradável. A Cherovia representa um tubérculo com o qual se identifica a Covilhã e o seu Concelho. A vasta produção só é possível em "terras da Covilhã", o que faz dela um ex-líbris da gastronomia local, podendo ser apresentada das mais diversas formas.

Batata Doce de Aljezur IGP

Description: Batata doce de Aljezur PGI (Aljezur sweet potato) is the adventitious, fleshy, tuberous root of the plant Ipomoea batatas (L.) (syn. Batatas edulis) of the Lira variety and Convolvulaceae family. Elongated and pear shaped, its skin is purple or reddish brown and its flesh yellow. Its size varies between 8,5x4,0 cm and 16,5×7,1 cm and it reaches a weight of between 50 and 450 g. It has a sweet taste and its texture is not very fibrous. When eaten raw its taste is similar to that of chestnuts.
