Description: Ramo Grande Beef is obtained from cattle of the Ramo Grande breed. It is a bright red meat, with a tendency to be more intense in contact with the air and with the age of the animal, with a firm consistency due to the presence of interfascicular connective tissue in variable proportion and with an intrinsic aromatic smell of the species. The fat is well distributed, pearly white in color and firm consistency after cooling the carcass. It does not leave unctuosity to the touch.

Description: The Vitela de Lafões PGI veal meatcomes from cattle slaughtered up to the weaning stage (5-7 months old) from either Arouquesa or Mirandesa breeds or their crossbreeds. It is a very tasty, juicy and tender meat. Commercially, the Vitela de Lafões PGI is presented either in carcasses or in properly packaged pieces.

Description: The meat of these animals is very tasty, due to the spontaneous pastures on which the animals feed. The goats of the Charnequeira breed have red coats, short and smooth hair. Head with a straight or sub-concave profile and convex forehead. The horns, when present, are large and slightly inclined back, divergent and twisted at the tips, or sharply spiraled. They have a broad trunk, with a narrow and deep chest, an almost straight dorsal-lumbar line but slightly drooping forward and a well-developed abdomen. The tail is short, horizontal and upturned at the tip. Finally, the limbs are strong, short and with regular uprightness.
