Particular characteristics (signs that highlight the uniqueness of the product): The chestnut, at the agricultural level, is undoubtedly the largest source of income in the municipality of Penedono. Integrated in the PDO geographical area "Castanha dos Soutos da Lapa", the municipality of Penedono produces the best chestnuts in the world. The sweet "chestnut biscuit", as its name implies, is made from chestnuts. In 2014, he was the winner of the Best Traditional Sweet Award of the "PENEDOCE" confectionery contest promoted by the Municipality of Penedono during its event "Mercado Magriço", it should be noted that the jury was chaired by the renowned Chef Hernâni Ermida.
